doula . mother . educator .
I was born and raised in SF and now live in Berkeley. My ancestry is rooted in central america and family is the base of everything I do. I have a wonderful son who’s birth was the most enlightening experience I’ve ever had. I am still learning the lessons : ) I honor families that I work with by showing up from a place of nurture and support. At the center of all that I do is my own amazing family. They are the pillar that stands strongest in my life and my care for others reflects that strength.
I am a prenatal yoga instructor, childbirth educator, birth and postpartum doula. I’ve been working in the birth field since 2013 and have lots of experience. I played collegiate volleyball and naturally was an athletic person. I incorporate lots of body awareness discussion and physical stretching into my care. In addition I meditate regularly and provide guided meditation support to birthing families. Being active and movement is important in pregnancy and labor but maybe more important in today’s western culture is the practice of softening and relaxing. This balance is a practice and it’s my mission to help birthing people utilize that balance to find ease.
What sets me a part from other wonderful doulas is the incorporation of ceremony into my care. I was blessed enough to have powerful womxn around me in my pregnancy and labor and want other people to be loved and supported in a special memorable way also. Mother’s Blessings ceremonies and La Cerrada are just a couple ways that I bring in ceremony to your birth.
Birth As Ceremony's philosophy is to support you emotionally, physically, and with advocacy so that you may birth and parent the way you choose.
